I've always been a fan of checking out other artists sketches. Sometimes they are more interesting to me than the finished pieces. Mainly because they seem to capture that energy you get when you are first inspired by an idea.
I've also enjoyed the Kinkos/home printed/Ash Can style mini sketch books. The idea of an artist throwing together some raw stuff for you to check out and dig is a bit like going over someones house and having fresh cookies right out of the oven. It's the DIY spirit of creation that gets me hyped.
In the spirit of both of these I created Future Flashback. A down and dirty B/W sketchbook that shows off some of my designs and pages for Me2, Emerald City Blues and Deity. I printed it out at home and stapled it myself. Some people garden and scrapbook...I make DIY sketchbooks.
I debuted it at Wonder Con and had a great response. I will be bringing a few with me to Wizard World Anaheim as well as other goodies.
